Easy Gluten-Free Beef and Bok Choy Stir Fry

Serve it with steamed cauliflower rice for a Paleo and Whole30 meal!

Quick Beef and Bok Choy Stir Fry

Easy Gluten-Free Beef and Bok Choy Stir Fry

Prepare the Beef:

2-2.5 lb Top Sirloin, 1/4” sliced against the grain in strips

3 Green Onions, diced

2 Cloves Garlic, finely minced

1/2 cup Coconut Aminos

1 Tbsp Pure Sesame Oil

2 Tbsp Fish Sauce

1/2 tsp Black Pepper

1 Tbsp Fresh Ginger, grated

2 Tbsp Rice Wine vinegar


Mix all ingredients in a medium bowl, add the beef and combine. Set aside at least 15-minutes up to overnight in the refrigerator.

Prepare the Sauce:

3 Tbsp Arrowroot Starch or Tapioca Starch

1/2 cup Filtered Water, cool

3/4 cup Unsalted Chicken broth

1/4 cup Coconut Aminos

1 Tbsp Fish Sauce

1/4 cup Honey or Pure Maple Syrup

2 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar

1 Tbsp Pure Sesame Oil

4-5 Cloves Garlic, finely minced

1 Tbsp Fresh Ginger, grated

1 tsp Sea Salt

1/2 tsp Black Pepper

1/2-1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (opt)

1 Tbsp sesame seeds (opt)


In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and stir with a whisk to throughly combine. Set aside. When you are ready to add the sauce, give it a quick stir before adding to mix together from any settling that occurs.

Making the Stir Fry:

1 Tbsp Coconut Oil

5-6 bunches Baby Bok Choy, 2" pieces

Marinated Beef

Stir-fry Sauce

1 tsp Sea salt


Prepare the baby bok choy by throughly rinsing it under cool running water. Dry and remove the stem and chop the remaining bunch into 2” pieces, separating the green tops from the stems.

Over high heat, add coconut oil to a large frying pan until almost smoking. Add 1/2 of the beef and cook for 60-90 seconds on both sides for a medium/medium rare finish. Remove from heat and cook second half and remove. If you like your beef more on the well done side, sear for 90-seconds to 2-minutes per side.

Add the bok choy stems and 1 tsp sea salt to the frying pan and sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened. Add the green tops of the bok choy and cook for 1-minute more. Lower temperature to low-medium and give the sauce a quick whisk before adding it to the pan. Stir and cook the sauce and bok choy for 3-minutes until the sauce has thickened.

Immediately stir in beef and serve over cauliflower rice or brown rice!
